This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
β’ Oversee and provide guidance on changes in indirect tax legislation and their implications for the organization.
β’ Discover avenues for tax optimization, risk mitigation, and refund recovery.
β’ Assist with remediation, disputes, and corrective filings concerning indirect tax.
β’ Aid in technology transformations and initiatives aimed at improving processes related to indirect tax.
β’ Manage projects concerning sales and use tax exemptions and incentives associated with data center operations and various state credit programs.
β’ Identify qualifying company activities, evaluate supporting documentation, and help in the preparation of claims and filings.
β’ Prepare and review calculations, tax documents, memoranda, executive summaries, and support for audit responses.
β’ Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory changes, identifying new incentives or opportunities for process enhancements.
β’ Define and implement deliverables, monitor project progress, and report on tax-related initiatives.
β’ Foster relationships across Infrastructure, Finance, Legal, and business teams.
β’ Coordinate workstreams and offer guidance across various teams.
β’ Investigate business operations to customize tax strategies.
β’ Communicate potential opportunities and risks to internal stakeholders.
β’ Collaborate with tax advisors and local and state authorities.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a similar field.
β’ A minimum of 3 years of experience in sales and use tax.
β’ Proficient in sales and use tax compliance, planning, or dispute resolution.
β’ Experience in preparing technical analyses, credit calculations, tax documents, memoranda, executive summaries, or materials for audit responses.
β’ Strong technical expertise in sales/use tax and credits & incentives areas.
β’ Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
β’ Proven ability to lead projects or workstreams while managing multiple priorities.
β’ Skills in complex problem-solving and critical thinking.
