This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the provision of tax compliance and advisory services for captive insurance structures and associated entities.
• Manage and assess tax compliance for captive insurance firms and related organizations.
• Offer expert guidance on IRC §831(b) and tax considerations specific to the insurance sector.
• Counsel clients on captive structuring, focusing on principles of risk distribution and risk shifting.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients and foster robust relationships.
• Assist and lead IRS examinations, audits, and controversy issues pertaining to captives.
• Manage multiple projects, encompassing planning, execution, and delivery.
• Evaluate work from staff and seniors while providing mentorship and facilitating technical growth.
• Discover tax planning opportunities and engage in advisory-focused projects.
• Collaborate with firm leadership to promote practice growth and expand service lines.
• Extensive experience with closely held entities and intricate tax structures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• CPA certification is mandatory.
• Manager: A minimum of 5 years of public accounting tax experience is preferred; equivalent relevant tax experience will be taken into account.
• Senior Manager: At least 8 years of public accounting tax experience is preferred; equivalent relevant tax experience will be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and multiple projects.
• Experience in captive insurance is preferred.
• Specialized tax experience in insurance tax, reinsurance tax, alternative risk, or similar areas will be considered.
• Proficiency in tax compliance or planning for captive insurance companies.
• Familiarity with §831(b) captives or micro-captive structures.
• Background in insurance tax, including property & casualty, reinsurance, or alternative risk arrangements.
• Knowledge of risk distribution and risk shifting concepts.
• Experience in supporting IRS audits or controversies involving captives or insurance entities.
• Legally authorized to work in the US for any employer.
