This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Prepare and file VAT returns along with associated reports across various EMEA/APAC jurisdictions.

β€’ Collaborate with tax advisors on documents related to Remote's VAT responsibilities.

β€’ Reconcile VAT accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure the accuracy of ERP data.

β€’ Coordinate with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accounting teams to review transactions and implement corrections.

β€’ Evaluate invoices for adherence to local tax regulations and appropriate tax treatment.

β€’ Oversee compliance with e-invoicing regulations in multiple EMEA/APAC jurisdictions.

β€’ Assist with the processes of VAT registrations and de-registrations.

β€’ Provide support during VAT audits.

β€’ Undertake ad hoc research and projects, including expansion into new countries and VAT implications for new operations.

β€’ Keep track of VAT legislative changes and evaluate their impact on the business.

β€’ Recognize and implement enhancements to the VAT reporting process.

β€’ Conduct checks on VAT numbers.

β€’ Review and refresh VAT records to ensure accuracy in invoicing and reporting.

β€’ Collaborate with the tax technology team to guarantee the accuracy of source data.

β€’ Report to the Senior Manager, VAT within the Finance - Tax team.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Experience working in a Tax department, especially in a Big 4 setting concentrated on tax and reporting.

β€’ Proven experience in preparing and submitting tax returns.

β€’ Familiarity with SAP is beneficial but not essential.

β€’ Bachelor's or master's degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Management, or a related field.

β€’ Chartered accountant qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, CPA, or equivalent are highly valued.

β€’ Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

β€’ Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

β€’ Proficient in written and spoken English.

β€’ Excellent analytical skills.

β€’ CV and application must be submitted in English.

β€’ Previous remote work experience is a plus, though not mandatory.
