Tableau Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage Tableau Server across development, testing, and production environments, including installation, upgrades, patching, and performance enhancements.

• Handle user provisioning, authentication, permissions, and access management.

• Configure and facilitate SSO/LDAP integrations and workflows for identity providers.

• Supervise Tableau license management and troubleshoot issues related to allocation and connectivity.

• Assist with published data sources and workbooks, including extract scheduling, credential management, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.

• Monitor system performance, logs, availability, and failed jobs; proactively address operational challenges.

• Integrate Tableau with SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP ERP, SAP BTP, SAP Analytics Cloud, and SAP BW ODBO connectivity.

• Maintain connectors, service accounts, and mechanisms for SAP data access.

• Develop and uphold governance standards for workbook promotion, naming conventions, documentation, and security protocols.

• Coordinate security, auditing, backup, recovery, and compliance requirements with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams.

• Facilitate the migration of workbooks, data sources, and projects across environments.

• Create and update runbooks, SOPs, support manuals, and technical documentation.

• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for incidents, service requests, and problem-solving.

• Assist users with publishing, scheduling, extract management, and best practices; provide training.

• Collaborate with Agile delivery teams on backlog refinement, sprint planning, testing, and release activities.

• Suggest enhancements for platform scalability, reliability, automation, and operational excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active U.S. DoD Secret Clearance.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business, or a related discipline; equivalent experience will be considered.

• Over 5 years of experience in application or analytics platform administration, business intelligence, or related technical support roles.

• Capability to fulfill DoD 8140 requirements.

• Practical experience in administering Tableau Server and supporting Tableau Desktop users within an enterprise setting.

• Solid understanding of Tableau Server configuration and maintenance.

• Strong grasp of user/security administration.

• Comprehensive knowledge of extract scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

• Proficient in performance tuning and issue resolution.

• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP BTP, and SAP-integrated analytics.

• Experience in supporting integrations with SAP data sources, ETL processes, or enterprise data pipelines.

• Knowledge of Okta, Active Directory, SSO/LDAP, or enterprise identity management.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication abilities.

• Capacity to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Understanding of federal IT security standards and capability to operate in classified or controlled environments.

• Experience in DoD, federal, or highly regulated spaces.

• Tableau certifications such as Tableau Certified Data Analyst or Tableau Server Certified Associate.

• Familiarity with Tableau SAP connector configurations, including SAP BW ODBO 64-bit driver setup.

• Experience integrating Tableau Server with Okta SSO in enterprise or federal contexts.

• Background in supporting analytics within financial, logistics, supply chain, transportation, or SAP ERP fields.

• Experience with cloud or hybrid Tableau environments, including Tableau Cloud.

• Knowledge of ServiceNow, Splunk, or similar monitoring and ticketing systems.

• Exposure to Agile frameworks like SAFe.

• Experience with Tableau Prep Builder for SAP-integrated data pipelines.

• Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
