System Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the technical integrity of the FISS architecture throughout all modifications, enhancements, and modernization initiatives.

• Provide guidance on how the mainframe interacts with cloud-based components and modern API-driven services on AWS.

• Establish architectural standards and evaluate all technical decisions that impact the core system.

• Ensure that modifications to COBOL, CICS, and VSAM are executed safely, avoiding any risk to claims processing.

• Collaborate with modernization engineers engaged in Java and API development to facilitate seamless integration patterns.

• Act as the technical escalation point for intricate issues across the program.

• Carry out other related responsibilities as assigned.

• Participate in oral presentations or pre-award activities if invited as part of the proposal process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with COBOL and IBM mainframe environments, including CICS and VSAM.

• Proven experience in integrating mainframe systems with cloud-hosted or API-based components.

• Knowledge of AWS and contemporary API development methodologies.

• Experience with Medicare or Medicaid claims processing systems is highly advantageous.

• Excels in a remote, collaborative environment and communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Applicants must possess authorization to work in the United States.

• Certain positions may necessitate U.S. citizenship and the capability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation and/or security clearance.

• Bachelor’s degree required.
