System and Data Integration Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the comprehensive integration of the E-IDS system encompassing data, layouts, network components, and facility workflows.

• Collect operational requirements directly from FAA facilities.

• Create LDAs by aligning NDC fields with site-specific operational requirements.

• Ensure data accuracy, layout functionality, system interfaces, and interoperability.

• Implement configurations and facilitate iterative refinements in both testing and operational settings.

• Record field mappings, layout choices, template structures, system behaviors, and configuration modifications.

• Aid in hardware setup, logistics coordination, software configuration, and cutover processes.

• Confirm implementation packages prior to deployment.

• Diagnose connectivity issues, Linux operational challenges, interface complications, and data synchronization problems.

• Assist with deployment and commissioning efforts across various sites.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Convey technical issues to both engineering and management stakeholders.

• Contribute to the advancement of the FAA’s innovative Air Traffic Control System and support the safety, efficiency, and modernization of the National Airspace System.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• One of the following educational/experience combinations: Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of related experience; Master’s degree with 10 years of experience; Associate’s degree with 14 years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent with 16 years of experience.

• Experience in hardware and software deployment/installation within enterprise environments.

• Practical experience in configuring, managing, and validating Cisco, Dell, and/or HPE/Aruba infrastructure technologies.

• Background in analyzing end-to-end system functionality, validating architecture, tracing data flows, and troubleshooting interface challenges.

• Hands-on experience with Linux-based systems and environments.

• Must reside within the contiguous United States.

• Willingness to travel 50–75% of the time to CONUS and potentially OCONUS locations.

• Ability to interpret Interface Control Documents, engineering drawings, and technical baselines.

• Competence in troubleshooting connectivity issues using standard Cisco diagnostic commands.

• Experience in integrating communications equipment with enterprise networks.

• Involvement in deployment and commissioning activities.

• Ability to troubleshoot common Linux operational challenges.

• Capability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Proficient in communicating technical issues to engineering and management audiences.

• Aptitude for analyzing and resolving technical problems in a structured way.

• Preferred: familiarity with FAA NAS, E-IDS, or other mission-critical operational systems.

• Preferred: understanding of ATC operational workflows and time-critical information needs.

• Preferred: knowledge of LDA, NDC, and operational display configurations.

• Preferred: experience with systems integration in complex, multi-vendor environments.

• Preferred: familiarity with Cisco Web GUI, Dell OpenManage, and HPE/Aruba Web Interface.

• Preferred: experience with interface configuration tools, layout editors, template management, and page builders.

• Preferred: knowledge of relational databases, schemas, data normalization, and data relationships.

• Preferred: experience troubleshooting operational data synchronization and interface discrepancies.

• Preferred: understanding of human factors engineering and usability principles.

• Preferred: experience supporting multi-site deployments, site readiness assessments, and commissioning.

• Preferred: familiarity with systems engineering lifecycle processes, configuration management, and change control.
