This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the global engagement strategy for U.S. Soccer.
• Act as the main point of contact for FIFA, Concacaf, other confederations, and member associations.
• Create and implement advocacy and influence strategies that promote U.S. interests in the global soccer arena.
• Establish and maintain relationships with national federations and international stakeholders.
• Drive results in alignment with U.S. Soccer’s 2032 Shared Goals.
• Manage international geopolitical, governance, and reputational risks.
• Assist the CEO/Secretary General and Federation President on international issues.
• Aid in crisis response involving international entities.
• Collaborate with Communications and Corporate/Government Affairs on international strategies, domestic policies, government relations, and corporate standing.
• Oversee the hosting of international delegations, executive engagements, and protocol matters.
• Coordinate with Sporting regarding coaching education, referee development, and pathways for player development.
• Work with Sporting on scheduling for Senior and Youth National Teams.
• Lead strategies for international stakeholders during major events.
• Identify and pursue future hosting opportunities, supporting upcoming bid projects.
• Collaborate with leadership on commercial and advancement initiatives.
• Manage relations with the U.S. State Department for international diplomacy efforts.
• Serve as the primary contact for U.S. Soccer with U.S. Embassies worldwide.
• Proficiency in multiple languages; fluency in at least one language other than English is essential.
• Spanish language skills are highly preferred.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience in international or corporate affairs.
• Previous experience within international governing bodies, diplomacy, international government relations, or a leading sports federation.
• Proven ability to influence, navigate, and achieve results in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
• Standing and credibility to represent U.S. Soccer to the highest levels of global football governance.
• Strong understanding of global football dynamics, including leagues, clubs, tournaments, and international competitions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a history of successfully closing bilateral agreements and partnerships.
• High cultural fluency and comfort working across diverse geographies and political environments.
• Collaborative leadership with an enterprise-minded approach.
• Ability to manage both internal and external resources to achieve objectives.
• Capability to thrive in fast-paced and demanding situations.
• Skill in linking detailed tasks to broader vision and mission objectives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
