This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Enhance the reliability, maintainability, and serviceability of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) fleet deployed by LG Energy Solution Vertech.
• Act as a liaison between field operations and engineering by converting operational insights, fleet challenges, and lessons learned into sustainable enhancements.
• Create and sustain service Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, troubleshooting manuals, service bulletins, maintenance protocols, and other technical documentation.
• Establish and refine standardized service processes, best practices, and field execution standards.
• Formulate and maintain preventative maintenance programs, maintenance strategies, tooling requirements, and service deliverables that support long-term service agreements.
• Assist in lifecycle planning, which includes product updates, obsolescence management, upgrade strategies, and sustaining legacy products.
• Identify recurring fleet issues, aid in root cause analyses, and drive corrective actions.
• Transform field lessons learned into enhancements across products, procedures, documentation, and support processes.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Quality, and Field Service teams to enhance maintainability, diagnostics, field repairability, and long-term supportability.
• Facilitate service readiness for new products, engineering changes, and significant product revisions.
• Offer technical support for intricate field issues and escalations.
• Develop and maintain service tools, technical resources, and knowledge management assets.
• Work in partnership with Field Service, Sustaining Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, Training, and Product Engineering teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent technical experience.
• 3–8 years of experience in supporting industrial equipment, energy systems, electrical infrastructure, automation systems, or similar technical products.
• Proven experience in developing technical procedures, maintenance documentation, engineering specifications, or operational work instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Capability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and actionable documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, field service, quality, and product organizations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Preferred: experience in supporting Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), power conversion equipment, renewable energy systems, industrial controls, or utility infrastructure.
• Preferred: experience in developing preventative maintenance programs.
• Preferred: involvement in root cause analysis investigations and corrective action programs.
• Preferred: familiarity with reliability engineering principles, FMEA, Lean, Six Sigma, or structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Preferred: knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus, CAN, TCP/IP, DNP3, or comparable industrial networking technologies.
• Preferred: experience with SCADA systems, industrial controls, Linux-based systems, or operational technology environments.
• Preferred: understanding of utility-scale generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
• Preferred: experience in supporting lifecycle service agreements or field-deployed industrial equipment fleets.
• Remote-eligible work arrangement.
• Approximately 10–20% travel to customer sites, service centers, engineering facilities, and corporate offices.
