Support Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assist with pre-trial litigation from the initial assignment of files through to trial and post-trial processes.

• Assess and analyze cases.

• Draft essential legal documents.

• Gather and prepare relevant defense information.

• Provide legal guidance to clients and claims personnel.

• Represent insured individuals and the Company in personal injury lawsuit defenses before courts, arbitration panels, or administrative bodies.

• Oversee and manage junior legal staff, including paralegals, secretaries, transcriptionists, and support specialists.

• Offer trial support, manage depositions and trial-related documents, prepare legal motions, attend law and motion hearings and other court proceedings, conduct research, review medical records, and complete designated case assignments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree is required.

• Licensed to practice law in the state(s) applicable to the role.

• Strong communication, persuasive, writing, and analytical abilities.

• Capability to work autonomously with little supervision.

• Solid organizational skills.

• Significant automobile travel, up to 20% of work hours.

• Must adhere to the company's standards regarding personal driving history and current licensing status.

• A minimum of one year as a licensed attorney with experience in insurance defense or equivalent relevant experience is preferred.

• First and second chair trial experience is advantageous (preferred).

• Juris Doctor degree from a state-accredited or ABA-accredited law school is preferred.

• Outstanding communication and analytical skills are preferred.
