
Supplier Technical Qualification Engineer – Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee and enhance a team responsible for executing second-source supplier qualifications for Critical Munitions Acceleration programs.
• Standardize and uphold supplier qualification processes and documentation within Command Media.
• Assist in assessing supplier technical capabilities, manufacturing readiness, and adherence to technical data packages.
• Lead or assist in testing, technical reviews, and validation of new sources, including Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities.
• Create and oversee qualification plans, timelines, risk registers, and Earned Value Management (EVM) for onboarding and preparedness.
• Collaborate with various engineering disciplines and relay technical status, risks, and recommendations to leadership.
• Travel approximately 35%–50% to supplier locations for on-site evaluations, audits, and readiness activities.
• Occasionally travel to Tucson for program and workshop support.
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• At least 12 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in mechanical or systems engineering, hardware development, or component qualification.
• Proven management and leadership experience in leading cross-department project teams or managing multiple related departments.
• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and test requirements.
• Experience in leading technical projects and coordinating across different functions.
• Background in working with suppliers or subcontractors on technical oversight, integration, or manufacturing support.
• Strong problem-solving skills, including RCCA, validation, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), and producibility enhancements.
• Experience in managing schedules, risks, and deliverables in a dynamic environment.
• Technical communication and documentation proficiency.
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM).
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
• An active and existing DoD Secret security clearance is required from day one.
• Preferred: A master's degree in engineering or Materials Science.
• Preferred: Experience with second-source or supplier qualification.
• Preferred: EVMS experience or certification.
• Preferred: Background in aerospace, defense, or other regulated hardware environments.
• Preferred: Hands-on testing experience, including planning and data analysis.
• Preferred: Agile/SAFe experience or relevant certifications (Scrum Master, SPC, PMP).
