This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Participate in a TypeScript monorepo that includes a Next.js 16 web application and API, an Expo mobile application, and a Cloudflare Worker.

• Oversee a shared PostgreSQL and Prisma data model utilized across various applications.

• Create and manage webhook handlers for services such as Plaid, Stripe, and Linq.

• Engage in queued inbound-message batching and the implementation of scheduled tasks.

• Manage security-sensitive systems that involve encrypted bank tokens, encrypted chat content, user-specific data scoping, and authentication for both web and mobile platforms.

• Construct and sustain the AI layer, which encompasses LLM tool-calling on users' financial information, long-term memory, and proactive insights.

• Critically evaluate AI-generated code, including personal contributions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in English; capable of producing written English sufficient for PR descriptions or incident reports without requiring follow-up clarification.

• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a software engineer.

• At least 3 years of experience delivering production-level TypeScript/Node backends.

• Experience in a company that processes monetary transactions or manages bank or card information.

• Extensive knowledge of PostgreSQL, including safe live-data migrations, indexing, transactions, and query planning.

• Practical experience with asynchronous systems, including idempotency, retries, webhook deduplication, and handling partially failed jobs.

• A security-first mindset regarding PII, data encryption at rest, authentication tokens, and the principle of least privilege.

• Individual ownership of production systems, including on-call duties, error tracking, and conducting root-cause analyses.

• Regular use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar technologies.

• Preferred location: New York, ideally Manhattan.

• Additional advantages: Experience with Plaid in production; familiarity with LLM in production; knowledge of Next.js App Router and React Server Components; experience with SMS or messaging compliance or Stripe subscription billing; proficiency in Expo / React Native.
