Supplier Metallurgical Control Specialist – Northeast Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and authorize suppliers’ systems for managing chemical and metallurgical processes.

• Perform reviews and monitoring of products and processes at supplier locations.

• Assess and sanction suppliers’ metallurgical and chemical procedures.

• Engage in addressing and investigating chemical/metallurgical concerns at suppliers that could affect Pratt & Whitney.

• Provide training on Pratt & Whitney's quality material control system requirements to suppliers.

• Contribute to the approval of engineering-controlled processes for critical applications.

• Collaborate with Pratt & Whitney business units to enhance overall supplier quality.

• Aid suppliers in documenting non-conformances and support root-cause corrective action investigations.

• Interact with employees at all levels within supplier organizations.

• Involve yourself in continuous improvement initiatives.

• Participate in team audits and reviews of manufacturing processes.

• Travel frequently across Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory; only U.S. citizens can access information related to this program/contract.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years of relevant prior experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 3 years of experience.

• A degree in Material Science/Engineering is preferred.

• Familiarity with testing and control of raw materials, finished products, and processing to meet company standards and applicable government regulations is preferred.

• Understanding of chemical/metallurgical processes, such as laser machining, electro-discharge machining, electro-chemical grinding, brazing, coatings, welding, and heat treatment is preferred.

• Knowledge of product integrity, quality control, supplier quality-system oversight, and supplier process/product audits is preferred.

• Must reside in the Northeast region (CT, MA, NH, VT, or ME) due to the necessity for frequent travel.

• A minimum of 30% travel is required.
