This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide mentorship and direct oversight for the daily activities assigned to the Revenue Cycle Services Team.
• Supervise the Revenue Cycle Team by assigning tasks, tracking progress, and assessing work for timeliness, quality, and compliance.
• Organize and lead daily team activities in accordance with priorities.
• Conduct revenue cycle analyst tasks as necessary.
• Facilitate onboarding and training for new team members.
• Develop and guide team members to enhance skills, engagement, and professional advancement.
• Offer management feedback regarding team member performance and engage in evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions.
• Promote employee engagement through active listening, mentoring, and fostering a supportive work atmosphere.
• Oversee customer contracts to ensure timely service delivery and accurate status reporting.
• Monitor Revenue Cycle KPIs and collaborate with management to enhance cash flow, decrease denials, and minimize bad debt.
• Investigate denial trends and address root causes impacting accounts receivable.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Revenue Cycle Management processes.
• Create new processes and refine existing ones for quality, efficiency, and promptness.
• Enforce guidelines, processes, and procedures to achieve objectives and meet regulatory standards.
• Assist in management decisions and contribute to team planning and strategy.
• Carry out other related responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Accounting, Mathematics, Business, or related fields; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
• Over 5 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in medical billing.
• Familiarity with hospital billing and collections.
• MEDITECH experience is preferred.
• Extensive experience in implementing, supporting, optimizing, and upgrading MEDITECH and/or other EMR systems.
• Experience in mentoring junior team members.
• Proven ability to create action plans based on financial objectives and targets.
• Thorough understanding and in-depth knowledge of the healthcare revenue cycle.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, billing guidelines, HIPAA, and compliance requirements.
• Solid understanding of third-party billing requirements and HIPAA 837/835 electronic language.
• W2 project-based consultants are required to provide a computing device that meets industry standards and security best practices.
