Supervisor, Medication Access Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Supervise day-to-day operations and staffing for designated teams

• Modify staff schedules and address any workflow deficiencies

• Aid in recruiting, hiring, evaluating, and retaining staff

• Handle personnel matters and set performance and behavior standards

• Offer coaching, constructive feedback, and opportunities for professional growth

• Organize training programs, competency evaluations, and quality review activities

• Respond to client inquiries and prioritize requests

• Track patient access, productivity, satisfaction, and workflow efficiency KPIs

• Implement corrective actions as necessary

• Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, privacy standards, and organizational policies

• Review medication authorizations and determine appropriate responses

• Conduct benefits investigations and evaluate coverage and out-of-pocket expenses

• Identify options for financial assistance

• Work with clinics to gather documentation, submit prior authorizations, and assist with coverage-denial appeals

• Communicate authorization decisions, financial assistance options, and pharmacy access pathways to patients

• Ensure precise and timely documentation in client EMR systems and Visante tracking platforms

• Support client onboarding, training, workflow enhancement, and ongoing process improvement

• Collaborate with Visante leadership, clients, clinical personnel, and interdepartmental teams

• Perform additional duties as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required

• Associate Degree is preferred

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare or with pharmacy providers regarding medication access

• State Board of Pharmacy Technician registration must be obtained within 6 months of hire

• At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or managerial role is preferred

• Experience in staff scheduling, performance management, and professional development is preferred

• Active CPhT certification from either PTCB or NHA is preferred

• Strong judgment, multitasking abilities, prioritization skills, and deadline management

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build robust client relationships

• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities

• Clear and effective communication skills

• Dedication to maintaining patient confidentiality

• Extensive understanding of medication reimbursement and healthcare prior authorization/coding

• Proficient in Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Excellent conflict resolution abilities

• Strong leadership qualities
