Supervisor, Government Audit

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +27 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the receipt, evaluation, and resolution of Medicare cost reports, ensuring compliance with CMS requirements.

• Conduct supervisory reviews of audit documentation to ensure adherence to CMS and government auditing standards.

• Assess cost report acceptances and desk reviews for promptness and compliance with CMS regulations.

• Plan, supervise, and budget team assignments; assess and report on outcomes.

• Examine settlement packages to ensure conformity with CMS standards.

• Enhance audit staff capabilities through both on-the-job training and formal educational programs.

• Investigate issues and provide timely responses to inquiries from providers and CMS.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

• Minimum of 5 years of auditing or accounting experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership capacity, or equivalent military experience at the E4 level or higher.

• Familiarity with cost accounting standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Proficient in auditing standards and statistical sampling methods.

• Understanding of auditing principles and practices.

• Capability to analyze and evaluate the relevance of financial data.

• Skill in gathering information through reviewing records and documents, as well as conducting interviews.

• Strong capabilities in planning, organization, human relations, interpersonal communication, and overall communication skills.

• Ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels and maintain effective working relationships.

• Capacity to manage sensitive issues with confidentiality.

• Proficiency in making presentations and utilizing critical thinking skills.

• Knowledge of provider reimbursement review board functions.

• Ability to interpret and enact modifications to the Medicare program.

• Comprehensive understanding of Uniform Contractor Evaluation Program guidelines.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing environments and make informed decisions.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
