This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Oversee a team of Fiber Construction Managers to address construction requirements, manage CapEx and OpEx, and track KPIs.
• Assist the Manager of Fiber Construction in liaising with NOC, Engineering, Field Operations, Permitting, and Change Management teams.
• Track and report KPIs while identifying opportunities to enhance process efficiency and performance.
• Stay informed about technology and its influence on operational business processes.
• Support CAPEX and OPEX budgeting and spending for the assigned area.
• Uphold organizational standards to ensure quality service delivery.
• Mentor and develop the fiber construction manager team, identify training needs, and establish career pathways.
• Organize and prioritize fiber construction and external vendor resources.
• Collaborate with utility and municipal providers to facilitate permits and related initiatives.
• Oversee external vendors to ensure timely completion within budget constraints.
• Conduct initial construction reviews as per project specifications.
• Supervise site construction schedules and resource allocation.
• Ensure accurate job maintenance in the project tracking system.
• Coordinate engineering, permitting, and licensing activities.
• Create permit and construction plans.
• Engage in vendor evaluation and selection processes.
• Ensure compliance with Zayo construction standards, processes, and procedures.
• Contribute to the ongoing growth and enhancement of construction operations.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience or equivalent expertise in direct supervision/management of employees and fiber engineering design, splicing, and/or construction implementation.
• Valid driver’s license is mandatory.
• Proficient in using optical test equipment such as OTDR, PMD, and Optical Spectrum Analyzer.
• Familiar with aerial and underground fiber construction standards.
• Knowledgeable about NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards.
• Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
• Demonstrated skills in people and project management.
• Strong foundation in fiber optic infrastructure engineering, construction, and restoration techniques.
• Understanding of Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) installation standards and practices.
• Capable of diagnosing workflow issues and implementing solutions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Commitment to safety, integrity, and ongoing professional development.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.
• This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization, including OPT, TN, H1B, or other work visas.
• A B.S. in Architecture, Engineering, or a Construction-related field, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
