This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +4 more states.
• Guide, mentor, and develop a team of application developers and technical experts.
• Set performance standards and aid employee development through consistent feedback and growth planning.
• Engage in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
• Promote accountability, teamwork, innovation, and ongoing improvement.
• Manage work assignments, priorities, and resource allocation.
• Take part in software design, development, code reviews, testing, deployment, and support activities.
• Offer technical guidance and architectural insight for application enhancements and modernization efforts.
• Assess code quality, development standards, and compliance with best practices.
• Diagnose complex application issues and assist in technical problem solving.
• Review and recommend technologies, frameworks, and development tools.
• Steer application development through all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and provide technology solutions.
• Supervise project execution, scope management, scheduling, and delivery commitments.
• Ensure that applications are secure, reliable, maintainable, and scalable.
• Lead and assist in Incident Management activities and resolution of production issues.
• Facilitate Problem Management, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and prevention strategies.
• Manage Change Management documentation, testing, approval, and implementation processes.
• Collaborate with Technical Operations, Infrastructure, Security, and Support teams.
• Track application health and key performance indicators, implementing improvements as necessary.
• Support production environments and provide leadership during high-priority incidents and outages.
• Promote automation, monitoring, and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with development, security, and operational standards.
• Assist in disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be acceptable.
• Over 5 years of experience in application development.
• At least 2 years of experience in a leadership, supervisory, or technical lead role.
• Experience managing enterprise applications in production settings.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and analytical abilities.
• Proficient in developing applications on the Microsoft Windows platform.
• Expertise in C# and .NET application development.
• Experience in developing and maintaining RESTful APIs and system integrations.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services and cloud-based application architectures.
• Proficient in using Git for source code management and collaborative development workflows.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps methodologies.
• Experience with SQL Server and relational database design.
• Understanding of Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications in highly available environments.
• Strong technical leadership and decision-making skills.
• Ability to balance hands-on technical contributions with supervisory duties.
• In-depth understanding of software development best practices and SDLC methodologies.
• Experience leading incident response, problem resolution, and change implementation efforts.
• Strong customer service orientation and business partnership capabilities.
• Ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Commitment to continuous improvement with a focus on quality, reliability, and operational excellence.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to FISMA-related federal background checks.
