
Supervising Physician – Eating Disorders

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +10 more states.
• Conduct thorough medical evaluations and provide evidence-based treatment for co-occurring medical issues associated with eating disorders.
• Assist families during the recovery journey.
• Track vital signs, laboratory results, and other medical information to ensure patients' medical stability.
• Collaborate with medical assistants and nurses to gather medical records and vital signs, order laboratory tests and medications, and facilitate care coordination with external providers.
• Work alongside therapists, dietitians, peer mentors, family mentors, medical professionals, and physician colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Offer medical guidelines and treatment recommendations.
• Utilize electronic medical record messaging to communicate with patients, their support systems, and the treatment team.
• Engage and collaborate with outside healthcare providers.
• Document effectively and in a timely manner in Equip’s electronic medical record system in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Participate in Treatment Team meetings, supervision sessions, continuing education, and departmental meetings.
• Provide clinical leadership and oversight to nursing staff and advanced practice providers.
• Allocate up to 50% of time to direct patient care and approximately 50% to administrative responsibilities.
• Respond to messages between sessions.
• Complete documentation and conduct unanticipated sessions with care team members or patients.
• Supervise advanced practice providers on a weekly basis.
• Attend weekly Treatment Team Meetings.
• Care for patients aged 6-99 with eating disorders via Equip’s virtual telehealth platform.
• Board-certified MD or DO in Family Medicine, or dual board-certified MD/DO in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics (Med-Peds).
• MD or DO degree required.
• Ability to treat patients across all age groups.
• Active, unrestricted medical license in one or more states.
• Willingness to acquire additional licenses as necessary.
• Ability and readiness to pursue licensure in all 50 states.
• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience.
• Experience in supervising or closely collaborating with advanced practice providers is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in high-acuity, high-volume clinical settings.
• Experience with telehealth or virtual care delivery is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with eating disorder medical management and evidence-based practices is preferred, but not mandatory.
• Excellent communication skills and a proven history of collaboration with diverse teams and external providers.
• Ability to quickly adapt to evolving clinical and organizational priorities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Clinical maturity to handle complex cases while maintaining therapeutic relationships.
• Comfort with the fast-paced and changing environment of a startup.
• Expected working hours in the Eastern Time Zone, Monday through Friday.
