SUD Nurse Practitioner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Perform health assessments to evaluate substance use, co-occurring disorders, and overall functioning.

• Identify health issues and develop personalized treatment strategies.

• Prescribe medications, oversee side effects, and modify treatment plans as necessary.

• Work in conjunction with the Holon care team and external providers to ensure comprehensive, integrated care.

• Act as a clinical consultant for complex or high-need cases.

• Provide education to clients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and recovery support options.

• Ensure accurate and prompt documentation in line with ethical, legal, and medical standards.

• Engage in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training opportunities.

• Deliver telehealth assessments, medication management, and care coordination services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in Iowa.

• Current DEA license (and CDS if applicable).

• Several years of experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, or psychiatry.

• Background in addiction medicine or psychiatry is required.

• Board certification in the specialty is preferred.

• Excellent documentation abilities.

• Familiarity with EHR platforms.

• Empathy toward individuals experiencing substance use disorders (SUD) and mental health challenges.

• Capability to collaborate in integrated and team-oriented care settings.

• Well-organized, adaptable, and skilled at maneuvering through complex systems.

• Strong and confident communication skills in a virtual environment.

• Additional state licenses are advantageous.
