📋 Description

• Review and verify provided PDF annotation assignments

• Ensure pages are in Japanese, legible, contain authentic content, and exclude personal information

• Identify and outline every significant page region

• Assign component types and reading-order indexes

• Connect regions to corresponding figures or tables using parent component identifiers

• Accurately transcribe all text in Japanese script, including kanji, hiragana, katakana, furigana, and handwritten elements

• Mark illegible source regions

• Record language, document type, source, page dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas, and handwriting

• Review colleagues' work comprehensively as a seasoned annotator

• Create human-generated structural maps and transcriptions for AI training datasets

⛳️ Requirements

• Native proficiency in Japanese

• Strong command of kanji, hiragana, katakana, furigana, and various character forms

• Professional background in interpretation, journalism, transcription, translation, editorial tasks, or similar document-heavy roles

• High accuracy at the character level in Japanese transcription

• Capability to consistently apply a taxonomy across numerous pages

• Familiarity with vertical text, multi-column newspapers, exam papers, and handwritten documents

• Experience in Japanese-language document annotation, labeling, grading, bilingual assessment, transcription, localization, MTPE, subtitling, bilingual QA, OCR correction, post-editing, typesetting, copy-editing, proofreading, digitization, Unicode normalization, Japanese input methods, full-width and half-width forms, and handling of kanji variants are preferred specialties

• Must operate as an independent contractor
