Substation Protection & Control Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Responsibilities encompass the design and preparation of the following Protection and Control Drawings:

• Protective Schemes

• Substation Relay One Lines and Three Lines

• AC/DC Schematics

• Substation Panel Layouts

• Substation Wiring Diagram and Cable Schedule

• SCADA and Communication Diagrams

• DC Systems Calculations

• AC Systems Calculations

• Development of Equipment Specification and Selection based on Client Criteria

• Development of Bill of Materials based on Design Criteria

• Coordination with physical, settings, and drafting disciplines to ensure high-quality deliverables

• Participation in client meetings and conducting site visits for data gathering as required

• Interpreting and integrating vendor information into design deliverables

• Applying client standards related to the work

• Providing field support during construction

• Ensuring adherence to the company’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes for all design packages

• Continuous enhancement of job-related engineering, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in electrical or computer engineering

• Over 2 years of experience in protection and controls

• More than 2 years of experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and MicroStation

• Engineering in Training (EIT) license

• Professional Engineer (PE) license

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft products, particularly Excel and Word

• Familiarity with the practical application of industry standards such as NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI

• Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing technical plans, blueprints, and drawings
