Substation Protection & Control Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and prepare protection and control drawings for substations.

• Generate one-line and three-line diagrams for substation relays.

• Develop AC/DC schematic diagrams.

• Design layouts for substation panels.

• Produce wiring diagrams and cable schedules for substations.

• Create SCADA and communication diagrams.

• Develop point-to-point wiring diagrams.

• Collaborate with physical, settings, and drafting teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.

• Analyze and integrate vendor information into design outputs.

• Implement client standards in all work produced.

• Conduct and ensure compliance with company QA/QC processes for all design packages.

• Regularly enhance job-related engineering, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's degree or High School Diploma.

• Experience in substation (transmission) design.

• Over 3 years of detailed wiring design experience, including the development of single lines, schematics, and relay panels.

• More than 3 years of proficiency with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Inventor, and MicroStation.

• Knowledge of AC/DC control diagrams to accurately execute point-to-point wiring tasks.

• Capability to assist lead engineers with initial design specifications.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft products, particularly Excel and Word.

• Familiarity with NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards.

• Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles necessary for creating technical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
