Substation Protection & Control Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Create and develop relay one-line and three-line diagrams for substations.

• Design and prepare AC/DC schematic diagrams.

• Draft and arrange layouts for substation panels.

• Generate wiring diagrams and cable schedules for substations.

• Develop SCADA and communication diagrams.

• Produce point-to-point wiring diagrams.

• Collaborate with physical, settings, and drafting teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.

• Analyze and integrate vendor information into design outputs.

• Implement client standards relevant to the tasks.

• Execute and ensure adherence to company QA/QC processes across all design packages.

• Consistently enhance job-related engineering, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.

• Operate under the guidance of the Electrical Project Lead.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's degree or High School Diploma.

• Experience in substation (transmission) design.

• Over 3 years of detailed wiring design experience, including the development of single lines, schematics, and relay panels.

• More than 3 years of proficiency with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Inventor, and MicroStation.

• Comprehension of AC/DC control diagrams to accurately carry out point-to-point wiring requirements.

• Capability to assist lead engineers with initial design specifications.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft products, particularly Excel and Word.

• Familiarity with the practical application of NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards.

• Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles essential for creating technical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
