Subject Matter Expert Manager, Domain Expert – MENA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Act as a specialist on the Middle East and North Africa, focusing on geopolitical trends and pertinent regional data sources to enhance AI models.

• Oversee and evaluate the quality of data streams.

• Lead and cultivate projects aimed at advancing AI models and tools for real-time event detection.

• Drive strategic initiatives across various teams, addressing significant opportunities or challenges.

• Make immediate decisions based on incomplete information.

• Collaborate with diverse stakeholders across different offices to facilitate region-specific training.

• Cooperate and communicate regarding daily priorities in a team-oriented atmosphere.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree is mandatory, preferably with a focus in Journalism, Political Science, Middle Eastern Studies, security/conflict studies, or a closely related discipline.

• Proven professional experience leveraging in-depth knowledge of the Middle East and North Africa region.

• Experience in a real-time information setting, such as breaking news desks, wire services, or GSOCs, is preferred.

• Capability to analyze and clearly articulate ongoing, complex events with incomplete data in a fast-paced context.

• Proficiency in Arabic and English is required; knowledge of Farsi, Hebrew, or Turkish is an advantage.

• Familiarity with AI tools and LLMs, along with experience employing them to resolve issues, enhance workflows, and boost efficiencies.

• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in dynamic situations.

• Enthusiasm for breaking news, current global events, and technology.

• Strong comprehension of social media and publicly accessible data.
