This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +1 more state.
β’ Act as a reliable contact for online and/or regional-site students from the point of enrollment until graduation.
β’ Foster trusting and supportive relationships with new students and maintain these connections through their graduation.
β’ Provide counseling and coaching to adult students to help them navigate obstacles to their academic and career objectives.
β’ Regularly communicate with assigned students via phone and email.
β’ Address student inquiries and requests, usually on the same day.
β’ Advocate for the needs of students across various university departments.
β’ Independently oversee an assigned caseload of students.
β’ Monitor student progress towards graduation and report metrics to the management team.
β’ Analyze student data to enhance the student experience and services offered.
β’ Recognize barriers to academic success and devise retention strategies.
β’ Introduce students to university systems such as Web Registration and Blackboard, providing training as needed.
β’ Communicate and uphold university academic policies.
β’ Advise students on their academic journey, including course selection, degree options, and balancing work/life/study commitments.
β’ Coach students on strategies for success, overcoming challenges, and engaging productively with the university.
β’ Carry out additional duties as assigned.
β’ A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
β’ Possess an engaging and dynamic phone presence.
β’ Demonstrate excellent email communication skills along with clear and concise writing abilities.
β’ Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
β’ Energetic and focused on achieving goals.
β’ Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
β’ Committed to the success of students.
β’ Responsive to both students and colleagues.
β’ Proficient in utilizing and quickly learning technologies, including Blackboard, social media, CRM/CNS, and Microsoft Office Products.
β’ Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain consistent communication with a student caseload.
β’ Ability to connect with and build relationships with adult students.
β’ High ethical standards are essential.
β’ Availability to work evenings and weekends is preferred.
β’ Remote work option available.
β’ A 50-foot ethernet cable will be provided.
β’ Flexible scheduling options: Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday, including one late night on Thursday.
