Student Intern, Administration and Communications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development of promotional materials related to education that align with the Learning Lab brand.

• Evaluate and recommend edits for audio and/or audiovisual educational media and their transcripts.

• Create and design external communications utilizing tools like Canva.

• Aid in enhancing website functionality and conducting regular maintenance alongside the Communications Specialist.

• Help manage grant project webpages, resources for grantees, and content in CARLE, the Learning Lab’s repository of open educational resources.

• Provide support throughout the entire RFP process, including reviewing and editing materials, tracking applications, managing correspondence, and addressing FAQs using Excel, Google Sheets, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must have completed a minimum of two years of college education.

• Currently enrolled as a student in a post-secondary institution.

• Must maintain enrollment in at least six semester units or nine quarter units.

• A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher must be maintained.

• A background or interest in communications, marketing, media, and/or journalism is advantageous.

• Familiarity or interest in educational equity and pedagogy is preferred.

• Ability to manage projects from start to finish, working both independently and as part of a team.

• Exceptional writing and copyediting skills, with demonstrable success and experience.

• Preferred experience in creating public messaging, engaging audiences, conducting digital marketing research and campaigns, mass communications, or journalistic endeavors.

• Experience with graphic design software such as Canva and/or InDesign is preferred.

• Possess a strong aesthetic sense and a grasp of basic design principles.

• Must be a resident of California.
