Structural Project Designer – Nuclear

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Operate under the guidance of the Structural Project Lead.

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and design project teams.

• Create layout drawings for structural steel and reinforced concrete designs using a 3-D model.

• Utilize Hexagon’s SmartPlant S3D modeling software and SPF database to produce structural design deliverables, BOMs, and commodity lists.

• Generate structural steel framing drawings, concrete wall and foundation designs, and detailing that aligns with engineering specifications.

• Oversee the coordination of detailed design phases for integrated structural design models.

• Address clashes and discrepancies within the 3D model and provide status updates.

• Guide and coordinate designers and project team members to guarantee thorough and timely design completion.

• Independently organize and implement structural deliverables.

• Provide mentorship to junior drafters and designers.

⛳️ Requirements

• We do not provide sponsorship for work authorization in the U.S. for this role.

• Proficient in SmartPlant S3D modeling, including S3D and SPF integration, clash detection resolution, component/parametric element setup, report/schedule/template creation, drawing presentation rules setup, and plant model data management.

• Over 10 years of detailed design experience in developing structural plant design drawings, structural steel design drawings, and reinforced concrete design drawings.

• Skilled in using design software tools to execute 3D plant layout models.

• Experienced in reviewing structural layout drawings that involve steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, foundations, and rebar detailing.

• Familiarity with reviewing vendor drawings and interface points.

• Capability to collaborate with engineering and design teams from various disciplines throughout the plant design process.

• Proficiency in MicroStation (preferred but not mandatory).

• Experience with Microsoft Office tools (preferred but not mandatory).
