Streaming Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and write original features, curated watchlists, franchise rankings, plot explainers, and in-depth analyses of major films, television shows, and streaming services.

• Regularly propose distinctive, reader-focused feature topics.

• Enter work into the internal CMS and source and format images in accordance with established guidelines.

• Stay informed about upcoming release schedules, updates in the streaming landscape, and pop-culture trends to suggest relevant feature angles.

• Collaborate with editorial teams across various brands for assignments, feedback, and content refinement.

• Adhere to general Editorial Guidelines while creating unique, high-quality feature content.

⛳️ Requirements

• Relevant experience in writing and editing entertainment features, TV/movie listicles, or pop-culture content in English.

• Strong capability to pitch original feature ideas and craft engaging, reader-centered content.

• Extensive knowledge of the current streaming environment, including platforms like Netflix, Max, Disney+, Hulu, Prime Video, and Apple TV+.

• Familiarity with major media franchises.

• Ability to analytically interpret complex plots, lore, or streaming trends into clear, engaging articles.

• Proficient in SEO practices applicable to feature writing.

• Experience working with a web-based CMS.

• Self-motivated attitude and a passion for keeping abreast of entertainment trends.

• CV and cover letter required for application.

• At least 2–3 published entertainment features, listicles, or pop-culture articles.

• Links to a portfolio or relevant social media profiles.

• Contributors must comply with Editorial Standards, including a strict ban on the use of Artificial Intelligence.
