Strategic Sourcing Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement sourcing strategies for essential products and services.

• Manage competitive RFP, RFQ, and RFI procedures.

• Create RFP documents, specifications, supplier prerequisites, and evaluation frameworks.

• Identify and assess potential suppliers.

• Conduct market research and benchmarking for suppliers.

• Develop category-specific sourcing strategies and identify opportunities for supplier consolidation.

• Oversee the entire sourcing process from business requirements and spend analysis to supplier implementation.

• Lead supplier pricing and commercial negotiations.

• Negotiate pricing, rebates, freight, payment terms, service levels, implementation costs, and other commercial conditions.

• Prepare financial models to assess the value and risk of supplier proposals.

• Collaborate with leadership and Legal on contract negotiations.

• Maintain oversight of supplier agreements, renewals, expiration dates, and termination requirements.

• Ensure that negotiated pricing and commercial terms are accurately implemented.

• Identify contracts that require renegotiation or competitive sourcing.

• Assist in contract assignments and supplier transition activities related to acquisitions.

• Establish supplier business reviews, scorecards, and corrective-action plans.

• Foster strategic relationships with key suppliers.

• Develop alternative and secondary sources for critical products.

• Identify risks to supply continuity and create contingency and secondary sourcing strategies.

• Assess supplier financial, geographic, operational, and concentration risks.

• Partner with Operations to develop business continuity strategies.

• Monitor industry and supplier trends that may impact pricing or availability.

• Create sourcing business cases, financial analyses, savings targets, and total-cost-of-ownership models.

• Track realized versus anticipated savings and collaborate with Finance to confirm material savings.

• Analyze supplier price increases and devise mitigation strategies.

• Operate autonomously as a senior procurement resource while collaborating with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Legal, IT, Fleet, and executive leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Operations, or a related field.

• 5–8 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain.

• Proven ability to independently develop and manage RFPs.

• Demonstrated experience in supplier negotiations.

• Experience in evaluating supplier contracts and commercial terms.

• Proficient in conducting financial and total-cost-of-ownership analysis.

• Experience in developing RFPs using Jaggaer Advanced Sourcing Optimizer.

• Capability to independently manage complex sourcing initiatives from opportunity identification to contract execution and supplier implementation.

• Preferred: Experience in healthcare, medical devices, DME/HME, distribution, or manufacturing sectors.

• Preferred: Experience in multi-location procurement.

• Preferred: Background in sourcing medical equipment or supplies.

• Preferred: Familiarity with enterprise ERP or purchasing systems.

• Preferred: Experience collaborating with cross-functional executive stakeholders.
