Strategic Planning Facilitator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead a refresh of an existing strategic plan or develop a new organizational strategic plan.

• Create the structure for planning sessions, gather stakeholder feedback, and document decision-making processes.

• Compose the mission, objectives, strategies, and a practical implementation roadmap for the organization to adopt.

• Establish a concise set of measurable indicators that the organization can effectively monitor.

• Develop materials for boards, councils, or leadership teams to support strategic initiatives.

• Provide input on facilitation methods and contribute past-performance narratives to proposals, only when authorized to do so.

• Ensure the strategic plan aligns with the organization’s actual capacity rather than relying on a generic template.

• Operate remotely on project-based assignments with governments, educational systems, agencies, and nonprofit organizations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in facilitating the adoption of an organizational strategic plan for a government entity, district, agency, or nonprofit organization.

• A specific plan you can reference by organization, year, and your role in its development.

• Competence in converting session results into goals, strategies, and a comprehensive written roadmap.

• Background in presenting to a board, council, or executive leadership team.

• Comfort as a 1099 project-based collaborator, with some travel to client sites as required.

• Preferred: Experience that involved developing an implementation scorecard or conducting progress reviews post-adoption.

• Preferred: Familiarity with working alongside a school board, city council, or public authority.
