Strategic Finance Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Ensure the delivery of precise, audit-ready financial statements by the 20th of each month, achieving complete account reconciliation with no significant errors.

• Develop and sustain a 12-month rolling cash forecast, updated weekly, to guarantee liquidity and transparency.

• Oversee the annual budgeting and forecasting activities across all departments.

• Create automated systems and workflows to minimize manual reporting time.

• Collaborate with leadership to enhance profitability and improve EBITDA.

• Formulate and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for closing, forecasting, cash flow, and reporting processes.

• Establish systems for managing expenses, travel, and purchasing.

• Generate financial dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Operations teams on growth, cash flow, and inventory planning.

• Assess ERP and reporting technology solutions to support the scaling of the company.

• Take ownership of the complete finance function and direct the financial strategy to facilitate company growth towards $100M and beyond.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA or CPA is highly preferred).

• Over 5 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.

• Demonstrated success in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.

• Experience in implementing scalable systems and automation within expanding organizations.

• Strong understanding of GAAP, compliance, and tax regulations.

• Proficient with tools such as Xero, QuickBooks, or advanced Excel/Google Sheets.

• Exceptional analytical and communication abilities; capable of simplifying complexity.

• Experience in e-commerce or multi-channel retail is preferred.
