Staff UX Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance reusable UX systems that facilitate high-quality product experiences.

• Develop both machine-readable and human-readable guidelines for components, page templates, user flows, interaction patterns, content guidance, accessibility standards, and UX principles.

• Collaborate with Product Design to translate UX expectations into actionable patterns, guardrails, and tools for AI-assisted workflows and engineering teams.

• Create tools, prompts, skills, plugins, rules, or other mechanisms that enhance the quality of AI-generated product experience outputs.

• Identify and address gaps in design systems, documentation, tooling, and UX standards.

• Work closely with engineering teams to comprehend the usage, challenges, and future needs of UX systems and AI-assisted tools.

• Assist in defining where AI-assisted workflows can be trusted, where human oversight is necessary, and how to evaluate experience quality.

• Establish feedback loops between UX and engineering based on real-world usage.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in software engineering with the capability to build tools, write code, and understand the interface shipping process of product teams.

• Strong systems thinking ability and the comfort to translate ambiguous UX expectations into clear, reusable frameworks.

• A passion for enabling AI-assisted product development through improved systems, constraints, tooling, and quality assurance measures.

• Interest in product design, user experience, accessibility, and design systems.

• Ability to look beyond screens and components to encompass the entire user flow, including sequence, logic, simplicity, content, and integration within the overall product experience.

• Excellent communication skills across various teams and departments.

• A willingness to learn UX principles and apply them thoughtfully in practical, production-focused manners.

• Practical experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, and React in production settings.

• Familiarity with Java, React 19, Radix Themes, Redux Toolkit, and UI-Router.
