Staff Solutions Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Regional Channel Managers to create effective technical sales strategies.

• Act as a reliable technical advisor throughout the entire sales process.

• Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution workshops to enhance sales enablement.

• Design integrated solutions utilizing P25, DMR, LTE/FirstNet, microwave, dispatch consoles, IP networking, and related technologies.

• Generate quotations, Bills of Material (BOMs), system drawings, and technical documentation.

• Execute RF propagation studies and perform coverage analysis.

• Offer technical support to Dealers in their responses to RFPs, ensuring submissions are compliant, competitive, and compelling.

• Investigate and address technical inquiries across various vendor product lines.

• Remain informed about emerging communications technologies and vendor product offerings.

• Conduct technical sales training for Dealers on new products, engineering tools, and best practices.

• Provide technical pre-sales assistance on radio communications systems for Public Safety, Industrial, Transportation, and Utility sectors.

• Collaborate with Eastern's Dealer Channel and Regional Channel Managers to formulate successful technical strategies and communication solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in a pre-sales or systems engineering role.

• Demonstrated experience delivering customer-facing technical pre-sales support, solution design, and engineering consultation through direct interactions with customers and Dealers.

• Proven capability to address complex engineering challenges using sound technical judgment, ongoing learning, and innovative solution design.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.

• Experience in designing mission-critical communications systems employing P25 and DMR conventional and trunked radio systems, microwave backhaul, and dispatch console platforms.

• Familiarity with engineering software for RF propagation modeling, in-building wireless (DAS) design, and microwave path analysis, including tools like RAPTR, EDX SignalPro, IBwave, Pathloss, or similar platforms.

• Experience utilizing AI productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or comparable) to enhance engineering, proposal development, technical writing, and workflow efficiency.

• Ability to work remotely within the Eastern or Central Time Zone.

• Reside within approximately 50 miles of a major airport.
