Staff Software Engineer, Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Act as the engineering lead for a project in collaboration with a product manager, designer, and engineering colleagues

• Define challenges, identify technical strategies, guide AI agents, deliver to production, and take responsibility for outcomes

• Oversee architecture, data models, integrations, deployment plans, observability, and rollback strategies

• Set up prompts, guardrails, evaluations, testing protocols, and review cycles for safe, accurate, and production-ready code generated by agents

• Engage in daily collaboration with the PM and designer, regularly with engineering teammates, and weekly with the Engineering Manager

• Manage initiative metrics and present results 2–4 weeks post-launch

• Ensure production accuracy, security, performance, observability, and a positive experience for customers and professionals

• Successfully launch 3–4 initiatives from start to finish in the first year and showcase measurable results

• Develop reusable runbooks, evaluations, agent workflows, and post-launch documentation

• Operate within LawnStarter's on-demand marketplace for lawn care and outdoor services, with plans to expand into home services

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in daily production using Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar AI coding agents

• Knowledge of prompts, evaluations, agent loops, and review processes

• Experience functioning at a lead level and making technical decisions

• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on metrics and user experience

• Ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and engineering colleagues

• Experience in making and documenting decisions regarding architecture, data models, and deployment strategies

• Capacity to create reusable agent workflows, evaluations, runbooks, and post-launch assessments

• Customer-centric and professional-oriented approach

• Strong expertise in at least one of the specified technology stacks

• Credible production experience with AI coding agents

• Familiarity with one or more of the following: Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, internal agent stack, MCP servers, evaluation tools, PHP/Laravel, TypeScript, React, React Native, Redshift, dbt, Segment, Airflow, AWS, Datadog, Sentry, GitHub Actions, Brain, Confluence, Jira
