Staff Software Engineer, Platform – Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Ensure exceptional service quality and maintain strong, scalable technical infrastructures utilizing Java, Python, MySQL, NSQ, Hbase, AWS, and Kubernetes

• Assist in guiding the team through intricate product and technical roadmaps

• Enhance delivery processes, systems, and tools while promoting technical initiatives and direction

• Establish processes to proactively identify and tackle technical challenges or escalate larger initiatives for prioritization

• Offer technical mentorship through pairing, documentation, and workshops

• Act as the technical owner of the access domain by spearheading initiatives and coordinating with stakeholders

• Oversee feature delivery with a focus on MVP and iterative milestones

• Design, develop, and sustain access platform solutions at internet scale

• Improve monitoring and alerting tools

• Identify and mitigate technical debt and performance bottlenecks

• Direct technical design planning and facilitate peer reviews

• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical presentations and workshops

• Manage cross-organizational projects and architecture

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in developing and supporting software within a production environment

• More than 5 years of experience programming in an object-oriented language such as Java, Python, C#, or C++

• At least 3 years of experience leading engineering projects and initiatives, including the design, development, and implementation of distributed systems

• Proven experience in ensuring the delivery of reliable services, prioritizing technical enhancements with cross-functional teams, and driving technical vision

• Proficient in professional English for both verbal and written communication

• Preferred: Over 5 years of experience in developing and supporting scalable, distributed backend services

• Preferred: Familiarity with cloud computing technologies such as AWS or GCP

• Preferred: 3 years of experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases

• Preferred: Proficient in Polish for both verbal and written communication
