Staff Software Engineer – Mobile QA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the technical strategy for mobile QA infrastructure throughout the native rewrite process.

• Develop operational practices that minimize maintenance and operational overhead while enhancing release quality.

• Create and expand automated testing systems for continuous regression testing.

• Determine which processes should be automated and which should be conducted manually for regression, performance validation, and release readiness assessments.

• Oversee QA preparedness for the phased rollout, including success metrics, resource allocation, and operational management.

• Assess when to augment or reduce testing resources as quality improvements plateau.

• Collaborate with engineering leadership, product teams, and design to establish SLOs and quality dashboards.

• Develop the QA onboarding playbook for product teams transitioning to native development.

• Set the hiring standards for QA contributors.

• Guide L3-L5 engineers on test architecture, native debugging, and quality benchmarks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of software engineering experience with significant expertise in mobile test infrastructure.

• Proven experience in architecting automated regression systems for native iOS and Android at scale.

• Established track record in defining and executing test infrastructure strategies relied upon by other engineering teams.

• Strong skills in Swift and Kotlin programming languages.

• Capability to design test frameworks, troubleshoot native app behavior, and implement compile-time quality constraints.

• Experience managing QA processes during large-scale migrations or transitions between platforms.

• Familiarity with managing dual-codebase parity validation and quality gates for phased rollouts.

• Background in leading SEVs and postmortems aimed at improving team practices.

• Proficient in fostering alignment and securing commitment from cross-team and cross-functional partners.

• Responsible utilization of generative AI with appropriate human oversight.
