Staff Software Engineer – MANTL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Drive initiatives to develop high-quality, scalable software solutions.

• Engage in the software design process from inception to completion.

• Guide technical decisions that align with strategic product objectives.

• Take ownership of various product features from start to finish.

• Oversee product features, including on-call escalations, triaging, and resolving issues.

• Conduct code and design evaluations.

• Participate in the complete application lifecycle, with an emphasis on coding and debugging.

• Write clean and efficient code for functional web applications.

• Execute advanced troubleshooting and debugging tasks.

• Conduct UI tests to enhance performance.

• Collaborate with developers, designers, and system administrators to identify new features.

• Manage technologies aimed at enhancing legacy applications.

• Collect and address technical and design specifications.

• Establish and maintain environment configurations while monitoring system health.

• Develop reusable code and libraries.

• Offer training and support to internal teams.

• Improve development tools, test coverage, and code organization.

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

• Address on-call incidents and resolve critical disruptions.

• Communicate effectively with customers and vendors.

• Set and uphold development standards.

• Advocate for an API-first approach.

• Lead the implementation of AI-driven engineering practices, code modernization, specification-driven development, and agentic workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8 years of relevant experience in software development or a related area, or 6 years with an advanced degree.

• Strong programming capabilities in an object-oriented language like Java or C#.

• Demonstrated experience as a full stack developer.

• Significant experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React and Angular, along with HTML and CSS.

• Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, and deployment phases.

• Experience in developing and deploying applications for Cloud Native Infrastructure.

• Familiarity with working in an agile framework.

• Exceptional analytical and time management abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering and product teams.

• Background in monitoring and supporting production systems.

• Advanced skills in system performance optimization and troubleshooting.

• Proficient with SQL and NoSQL databases and caching strategies.

• In-depth knowledge and practical application of REST API best practices.

• Advanced experience in test development, including unit, UI automation, and integration tests.

• Experience in building and deploying applications using Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

• Ability to work full-time in the United States; employer is unable to provide employment sponsorship.

• Preferred: Master’s degree in engineering, technology, or a related field.

• Preferred: Experience with SaaS solutions in technology and financial sectors.

• Preferred: Experience deploying applications on AWS utilizing Kubernetes.

• Preferred: Experience with cross-platform mobile development frameworks like Flutter.
