Senior Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Address business challenges presented by stakeholders, identifying key issues and establishing clear requirements and desired outcomes.

• Take charge of delivering an agreed-upon business solution in collaboration with the CTO and business owner.

• Determine what to create, repurpose, modify, eliminate, or postpone, elevating significant cost or risk decisions as necessary.

• Design and manage comprehensive systems encompassing database, backend, and user interface.

• Create features for customers, internal tools, and automation processes.

• Conduct testing and implement rollouts safely, ensuring monitoring and appropriate recovery strategies for risks.

• Safeguard access to and protect customer data.

• Promote system adoption, maintain documentation, and establish ongoing ownership agreements.

• Set success metrics and baselines, evaluate outcomes, and report impacts transparently.

• Utilize AI tools on a daily basis, validate their results, and handle LLM failure modes when relevant.

• Work directly with non-technical business sectors and engineering colleagues.

• Report directly to the CTO.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in software product development, including both conceptualizing and executing builds.

• Capability to transform vague business requests into actionable tasks without waiting for a finalized PRD.

• Strong judgment on project scope and the ability to articulate decisions regarding what was omitted, postponed, or rejected.

• Full-stack production capability, including relevant testing and failure management.

• Proficiency in modern TypeScript and a React framework in production; Next.js is preferred.

• Experience with relational database modeling and querying beyond basic CRUD operations.

• Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders and exercise commercial judgment.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development practices, including validation and correction of AI outputs.

• Proficient in English at B2/C1 level at a minimum, capable of leading stakeholder discussions and producing clear technical documentation.

• Availability of at least four hours of overlap with the team’s EU working hours.

• Desirable: Experience in DTC, retail, e-commerce, gaming, or subscription-commerce.

• Desirable: Knowledge of checkout, fulfillment, or customer support tooling.

• Desirable: Background in embedded delivery, solutions engineering, or as a founder.

• Desirable: Experience with Composable/MACH architecture or proficiency in Kubernetes, GCP, or AWS in production.

• Desirable: Contributions to open-source projects or public technical writing.

• Proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.

• Must be hands-on, pragmatic, self-motivated, decisive, commercially savvy, straightforward, and open to coaching.
