Staff Software Engineer – Growth Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain dependable, configurable systems that facilitate scalable client launches and secure member access.

• Take ownership of engineering processes for eligibility processing, identity and access management, client configuration, and reporting platform support.

• Execute full-stack product development with a focus on backend solutions.

• Construct and uphold GraphQL APIs powered by Python services utilizing Django and Flask.

• Create web and mobile user experiences using React and React Native frameworks.

• Design efficient, reusable systems for intricate web and mobile applications.

• Ensure HIPAA and GDPR compliance, along with overall security, by applying best practices.

• Draft and implement technical plans (tech specs/RFCs) for large, complex, cross-domain projects.

• Guide projects alongside design, product, cross-functional partners, and engineering teams.

• Manage roadmap commitments, launch schedules, work breakdown, and inter-team dependencies.

• Produce and update technical documentation, unit tests, and integration tests.

• Contribute to strategic engineering initiatives and participate in cross-team engineering forums.

• Provide mentorship to engineers within Care Journey and the broader engineering department.

• Review technical project plans and code to ensure quality and adherence to standards.

• Engage in on-call duties, investigations, remediation, and processes for improving recurring issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of relevant software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages.

• A minimum of 2 years of production experience in full-stack web development, specifically with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React Native, and React.

• Strong preference for deep familiarity with the tech stack or a directly comparable one.

• Proven record of taking high ownership and the ability to break down ambiguous problems into manageable components, proposing technically sound strategies, estimating, and delivering solutions.

• Experience in crafting technical plans (tech specs/RFCs) and leading solution development for initiatives spanning multiple domains or teams.

• Proficiency in building and maintaining GraphQL and/or REST APIs.

• Experience in scaling relational databases like PostgreSQL and crafting efficient queries.

• Capability to work cross-functionally and act as a technical partner to product, design, and engineering teams.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Background in mentoring and effectively collaborating with a distributed development team.

• Experience in leading and architecting large-scale projects as a technical thought leader.

• A passion for creating solutions that enhance the lives of others.

• Must be able to maintain work authorization throughout employment without employer sponsorship or employer-provided training plans or attestations.

• This position cannot be performed in Hawaii.
