Staff Software Engineer, Golang

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with stakeholders to ascertain product component requirements and integrate feedback into designs and solutions.

• Convert functional requirements into system designs and convey component interactions.

• Design and develop product components, refine coding plans, and spearhead design reviews.

• Contribute to project estimations and escalate issues that may lead to delays.

• Create, implement, and sustain extensible, reusable code.

• Promote code quality through metrics and adherence to best practices.

• Utilize debugging tools to resolve moderately complex issues and pinpoint automation opportunities.

• Lead code reviews and offer constructive feedback to team members.

• Develop intricate test plans, identify testing gaps, and rectify defects.

• Employ data analysis and monitoring standards to uncover patterns and defects.

• Address incidents during on-call rotations and aid in incident response and resolution.

• Build, enhance, and identify tools for developers.

• Pursue new knowledge, adapt to technological trends, enhance product performance, and suggest resources to engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant professional experience with a bachelor’s degree, or a minimum of 2 years of experience with an advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or no work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of pertinent work experience.

• Established experience in designing and executing large-scale portfolio migration strategies for mission-critical financial platforms.

• Strong proficiency in Golang and distributed systems that handle high-volume workloads.

• Experience in constructing and managing data-intensive migration pipelines with an emphasis on performance, resiliency, and observability.

• Practical experience with AWS services such as S3, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, EventBridge, KMS, and Valkey.

• Solid understanding of asynchronous processing patterns, event-driven architectures, and large-scale data movement.

• Experience in troubleshooting complex production incidents involving distributed systems and inter-service dependencies.

• Proven capability to lead the technical design and execution of intricate engineering initiatives that span multiple teams.

• Experience in balancing migration velocity, operational risk, and customer impact in highly regulated financial environments.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage directly with clients, internal stakeholders, and engineering teams during migration planning and execution.

• Experience with payment processing, card issuing, digital banking, or other critical financial systems is highly desirable.
