Staff Software Engineer, Go-to-Market Systems, AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the technical strategy, architecture, and long-term development of the go-to-market technology stack.

• Design, develop, and manage production-quality AI agents and automated workflows that minimize manual sales tasks and enhance decision-making processes.

• Drive technical execution by establishing direction, deconstructing complex issues, assessing designs, and assisting engineers in delivering high-quality solutions.

• Maintain a hands-on role throughout the stages of prototyping, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and production operations.

• Collaborate with leaders in Sales, Sales Strategy & Operations, Product, Data, and Engineering to convert business challenges into scalable technical solutions.

• Create patterns, evaluation techniques, and safeguards for dependable, observable, secure, and safe AI systems.

• Establish success metrics and utilize data, evaluations, and user feedback to enhance capability accuracy, user adoption, and business impact.

• Make decisions on build versus buy and guide integration across internal platforms, CRM systems, data services, and external tools.

• Foster alignment with senior partners, communicate technical trade-offs, mentor engineers, and elevate engineering standards through design reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years with a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years of experience; or equivalent experience.

• Proven experience in setting technical direction and delivering complex, business-critical systems across various teams or functional areas.

• Experience in designing, building, and operating production software that incorporates large language models, AI agents, tool calling, retrieval, workflow orchestration, or similar technologies.

• A track record of transitioning AI capabilities from prototype to production, including aspects such as evaluation, observability, security, reliability, and human oversight.

• An AI-native approach to engineering, employing AI tools throughout the development process while exercising sound judgment regarding the use of models, deterministic software, or human review.

• Strong software engineering and system-design expertise across application, service, integration, and data layers.

• Experience leading technical execution through influence, mentorship, architecture, and direct contributions without depending on formal reporting authority.

• The ability to navigate ambiguous problems, assess technical and business trade-offs, and influence senior engineering and business partners.

• Familiarity with sales processes or go-to-market systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
