Lead Applications Development Engineer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Manage the analysis, programming, and configuration of IT systems software.

• Offer thought leadership and architectural guidance.

• Design, develop, and direct the architecture of scalable, high-performance, maintainable Angular applications.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to establish technical requirements and convert business needs into technical solutions.

• Provide technical direction to foster innovation and enhance application design and development.

• Investigate business challenges and recommend software solutions.

• Mentor junior developers.

• Generate estimates and create both functional and detailed design specifications.

• Transform system designs and technical specifications into program code for intricate applications.

• Advocate for lightweight architectures, modern web standards, and best practices to enhance performance and minimize load times.

• Debug and resolve program code issues and rectify errors.

• Deliver Level-2 support for systems-related challenges.

• Supervise controlled software releases to production and confirm system stability post-patching.

• Act as a senior technical authority in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of new software and major enhancements.

• Collaborate with technical personnel to identify software problems and develop specifications for solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent foreign qualification.

• 4 years of experience in the offered position or in a related Lead Engineer, Application Development (Java) role.

• Experience in architecting and developing large-scale, distributed, web-based applications with Python FastAPI, Angular, and React.js.

• Proficiency in deploying applications across various geographic regions utilizing Google Cloud Infrastructure.

• Experience in designing component-based, object-oriented systems using internet technologies, client/server architectures, relational databases, structured development practices, testing methodologies, and data warehousing principles.

• Expertise in building UI libraries and modern web interfaces with JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular 20.x, and React.js.

• Skilled in developing secure, production-ready APIs with Java 12+, Python FastAPI, and the Spring Framework (Boot).

• Knowledge of UNIX shell commands for Git repositories, build tools, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker container management.

• Experience in installing and managing system packages using yum, apt, and brew.

• Familiarity with preparing runtime environments for application deployment.

• Practical experience with PL/SQL for enterprise-scale data workflows.

• Strong understanding of GCP CI/CD practices.

• Proficient in Jira and Agile methodologies.
