Staff Software Engineer – GenAI Innovation, Forward Deployed

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the creation of cutting-edge systems and solutions utilizing advanced AI capabilities.

• Swiftly investigate and assess new AI technologies, converting their potential into quantifiable business returns.

• Thoroughly analyze proposed AI solutions to ascertain their suitability for addressing specific problems.

• Construct backends and data layers incorporating business logic, API standards, NBCUniversal gateways, and recognized best practices.

• Implement and oversee SQL and NoSQL databases as well as application storage solutions.

• Design features that connect the application user interface with the underlying APIs.

• Uphold code quality through stringent testing and adherence to coding standards, including the code written by agents.

• Create automated tests for functions, services, and objects, ensuring compatibility across various devices and browsers.

• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary, matrixed environment to effectively manage system complexities and deploy solutions.

• Deploy applications to cloud platforms while troubleshooting issues related to applications, cloud, and configuration.

• Utilize code and test generation tools to expedite the delivery process.

• Demonstrate the business value of AI foundation models across various sectors including TV, film, theme parks, and other business units, while efficiently bringing solutions into production.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in backend or full-stack development.

• A comprehensive portfolio showcasing relevant experience.

• Strong systems-thinking skills with the ability to design solutions for systemic challenges.

• Capability to independently take a basic application from concept to completion.

• Proficiency in Python for application development, along with experience in AWS, database systems, and SQL.

• Familiarity with the Python ecosystem, including tools for building, testing, and deploying applications.

• In-depth knowledge of ML practices for the integration of foundation models, including tooling, instrumentation, feature/model selection, and RAG patterns.

• Experience in fine-tuning, deep learning, and insights into training/algorithms.

• Ability to critically assess ambiguously defined problems and differentiate user preferences from essential requirements.

• Knowledge of API backends with practical experience in integrating and consuming APIs within front-end projects.

• Capacity to quickly adapt to feedback and changing priorities.

• Competence in designing, articulating, and implementing technical architectures and concepts into scalable solutions.

• Experience working within secure internal network environments and navigating complex cloud network setups.

• Familiarity with integrating large language models and AI-generated content technologies into applications.

• Knowledge of LLM integration tools such as LangChain.

• Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

• Effective communication and collaboration abilities across diverse teams in a large, matrixed organization.

• Skill in translating business requirements into clear technical specifications.
