This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Deliver technical leadership and engineering assistance for Conagra’s Natural Gas Safety Management program and refrigeration systems throughout its manufacturing network.
• Collaborate with plant teams, Corporate Engineering, external engineering firms, contractors, consultants, and equipment suppliers.
• Maintain safe operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize system performance.
• Enhance the Natural Gas Safety Management program by conducting audits, engineering calculations, design reviews, and risk mitigation activities.
• Guarantee adherence to company standards, industry codes, and insurance requirements.
• Propose capital improvements to boost the safety, reliability, and efficiency of combustion and refrigeration systems.
• Organize combustion safety audits and assist facilities in formulating corrective action plans.
• Create engineering workflow documents, including budget estimates, Front End Loading packages, and technical briefs.
• Support Engineering Project Managers throughout project design, execution, commissioning, and startup phases.
• Aid in the development and review of natural gas purge plans.
• Offer technical support during plant emergencies and operational interruptions.
• Keep abreast of advancements in combustion and refrigeration technologies, standards, and industry best practices.
• Provide technical direction for refrigeration systems, industrial chillers, combustible gas piping systems, and combustion control equipment.
• Engage in regular travel to manufacturing facilities, up to 50% of the time.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a comparable field.
• Over 5 years of experience in food manufacturing.
• More than 5 years of experience managing industrial utility systems.
• Understanding of National Fire Protection Association combustion safety standards.
• Experience with supporting combustible gas systems and utility infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Industrial Refrigeration standards and widely accepted engineering practices is preferred.
• At least 2 years of refrigeration experience is preferred.
• Strong skills in technical problem-solving and collaboration.
• Experience collaborating with contractors, consultants, equipment suppliers, and manufacturing teams.
• Position may be located remotely east of Denver, Colorado, within a reasonable distance to a major airport.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% is required.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship, either now or in the future.
• Ability to walk around the facility, climb stairs/ladders, kneel, perform repetitive tasks requiring hand-eye coordination, and lift or carry materials of various weights and sizes may be needed.
• Capability to work in a manufacturing environment with large, moving equipment, potentially high noise levels, and fluctuating temperatures.
