Staff Software Engineer, Full-stack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and define the technical strategy across various squads, influencing architectural decisions that will have a lasting effect on Onebrief's platform.

• Address unclear technical challenges and transform vaguely defined issues into scalable solutions.

• Develop shared systems, patterns, and platform capabilities that accelerate the progress of engineering teams.

• Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to shape the technical roadmap.

• Balance the long-term health of the platform with the need for swift customer delivery.

• Advance AI-assisted development practices, engineering standards, and technical decision-making throughout the organization.

• Guide engineers through design evaluations, architectural advice, and collaboration across teams.

• Establish technical direction on cross-squad challenges and define clear paths for execution.

• Oversee shared architecture and systems utilized across the organization.

• Enhance the technical judgment of surrounding engineers and improve standards for effective use of AI tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of software engineering experience with a proven history of technical leadership across teams and platforms.

• Extensive experience in designing scalable distributed systems, APIs, data models, and cloud-native architectures.

• Comprehensive expertise in full-stack development, covering frontend, backend, and infrastructure.

• Active user of AI-assisted development tools, with a deliberate approach to incorporating them into engineering processes.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to foster technical alignment through design documentation and architectural discussions.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and influencing others without direct authority.

• Experience in mission-critical or high-compliance sectors such as FedRAMP, SOC 2, or DoD.

• Proficient in authentication and identity infrastructure at scale, including OIDC, SAML, and federated identity.

• Previous experience in a rapidly growing B2B SaaS environment.

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and asynchronous-first system design.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States for Onebrief.
