Staff Software Engineer – Frontend, UI

📋 Description

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of contemporary web and mobile applications.

• Create intuitive, high-performance, and visually appealing user experiences utilizing React and React Native.

• Establish best practices for frontend development concerning component architecture, state management, testing, accessibility, and performance.

• Propel the advancement of the design system and shared UI component libraries.

• Take ownership of complex features from start to finish, including user interface development, backend services, and APIs.

• Collaborate with product, design, data, and clinical teams to convert ideas into outstanding customer experiences.

• Design and implement scalable APIs and services that power member-facing applications.

• Contribute to technical decisions across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and data systems.

• Advocate for frontend performance, responsiveness, accessibility, and reliability.

• Optimize application performance across both web and mobile platforms.

• Utilize analytics and user feedback to enhance product experiences.

• Provide architectural guidance and technical mentorship throughout the engineering organization.

• Lead significant initiatives from concept to launch.

• Promote engineering standards, code quality, and best practices.

• Assess emerging technologies and development methodologies.

• Develop AI-driven health analysis tools and improve the integration of wearable, medical record, and other health data sources.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of software engineering experience, with substantial expertise in building customer-facing products.

• Proven track record of leading intricate technical initiatives within high-growth or startup environments.

• Experience in balancing hands-on development with technical leadership and mentorship.

• In-depth knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend development.

• Extensive experience with React and contemporary frontend architectures.

• Strong grasp of design systems, component libraries, state management, accessibility (WCAG), performance optimization, frontend testing frameworks, and modern build and deployment tools.

• Experience in creating highly interactive, data-rich user interfaces.

• Understanding of mobile architecture, performance optimization, and platform-specific considerations.

• Experience in designing and building APIs and backend services.

• Strong proficiency in Python or similar backend technologies.

• Capability to work seamlessly across the entire application stack.

• Experience integrating third-party services and external data platforms.

• Strong product instincts and a passion for delivering exceptional user experiences.

• Ability to balance technical excellence with business impact.

• Experience working closely with Product and Design teams.

• Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies, test-driven development, continuous integration and deployment, software architecture principles, and scalable system design.
