Staff Software Engineer, Core Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +3 more locations.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with engineers to design and implement high-performance services that are both durable and dependable.

• Engage in code reviews, design assessments, and participate in the production on-call rotation.

• Troubleshoot production issues to ensure system scalability.

• Perform data analysis, monitor performance, and optimize systems through benchmarking and profiling.

• Independently drive experiments and develop solutions to meet business requirements.

• Create synchronous and asynchronous APIs for communication among services within a large distributed system.

• Develop schemas for both relational and non-relational databases.

• Lead major projects and influence platform reliability, performance, and future direction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience as a software engineer.

• Proven experience in operating reliable production systems at scale.

• Proficiency in writing high-performance code in a compiled language such as Rust, C/C++, or Golang.

• Capability to understand data flows within distributed systems.

• Familiarity with LLM-powered coding tools, such as Claude.

• Experience with technologies such as Redis, Kafka, Postgres, ClickHouse, or gRPC is a plus.

• Knowledge of application profiling to enhance performance in terms of time, CPU, and memory is advantageous.

• Background in debugging issues within distributed systems is a bonus.
