Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with team members and cross-functional teams to design, develop, and improve cloud-native applications within Pearson’s Access Domain, which oversees access to Pearson’s global learning resources.

• Act as a team leader on an agile team, engaging with all roles on the agile team as well as other development teams.

• Assess business requirements and co-create efficient, modern architectures.

• Develop, test, document, and deploy applications, web services, and APIs.

• Maintain code quality through Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), unit/integration testing, and adherence to industry standards.

• Investigate and share insights on new frameworks and cloud technologies.

• Transform legacy systems into cloud-based microservices.

• Co-manage Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, infrastructure automation, and code quality surveillance.

• Enforce security protocols and manage authentication/authorization.

• Support and enhance applications, monitor system health, and provide production support.

• Deliver technical demonstrations, engage in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and collaborate with clients and teams to achieve delivery goals and resolve issues.

• Lead and support the scrum team, facilitating agile ceremonies.

• Mentor and elevate junior engineers.

• Advocate for agile best practices and promote continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electronics and Communications, Information Technology, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in Java/J2EE, Spring, microservices, cloud platforms, CI/CD, and security standards.

• Advanced expertise in Software Design.

• Advanced expertise in Information Security.
