Staff Software Engineer, Banking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive technical strategy of the Cash App Banking server engineering team.

• Collaborate with various teams and disciplines to refine technical strategies.

• Propel architectural decisions and enhance infrastructure for robust, scalable systems.

• Nurture the development of emerging engineers and broaden their influence.

• Team up with product managers, designers, engineers, and business leaders to formulate, convey, and implement technical strategies.

• Impact organizational and company leaders to foster consistent, sound, and efficient technical decisions.

• Directly contribute to technical designs and coding efforts.

• Uphold high engineering standards.

• Coach and mentor colleagues to enhance their technical knowledge and capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in software development or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience in leading large-scale features, including planning, managing, and executing project delivery while maintaining a high quality standard.

• Proven experience in identifying, aligning, and implementing globally optimal solutions in complex systems.

• Capability to design and develop innovative solutions for intricate problems.

• Strong history of supporting fellow engineers in their growth.

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Proficiency in Java and Kotlin.

• Familiarity with AWS.

• Knowledge of HTTP, JSON, gRPC, and Protocol Buffers.

• Experience with OkHttp, Jetty, JUnit, and Guice.

• Proficient in Hibernate, Aurora, MySQL, DynamoDB, and Redis.

• Understanding of Kafka, event-driven architecture, and microservices.

• Experience with DataDog.

• Familiarity with Buildkite and Gradle.
