Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and deliver web-based software solutions for Toro TMS's transportation management system tailored for bulk commodity haulers.

• Function as an entrepreneurial and product-focused Staff Software Engineer alongside a team of seasoned engineers.

• Grasp the nuances of the trucking industry and the challenges faced by its users.

• Work collaboratively with product management and UX teams to enhance product offerings.

• Rapidly build and deploy features while maintaining a balance between quality and speed.

• Proactively recognize and undertake tasks that align with team and business objectives.

• Engage in team discussions, pair programming sessions, and collective decision-making processes.

• Provide support to colleagues across engineering and various business areas.

• Conduct meetings with customers to understand their operations and workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in both Ruby on Rails and React frameworks.

• Proven experience in a remote-first work environment.

• Over 5 years of experience in developing and launching web-based software products.

• Demonstrated ability and eagerness to deliver features quickly on a daily or weekly basis.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Capacity to receive guidance and feedback from senior team members.

• Strong interest in learning about the trucking sector, engaging with customers, and understanding their business processes.

• Empathy towards users and team members.

• Must reside in the United States.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
